A Brief Hiatus

Watercolor by Nita Lou Bryant

Oh, dear.

I guess I could have mentioned that I was planning to take a bit of time off from blogging...

Please accept my apologies for disappearing for a while. I haven't sewn a thing in weeks and weeks, though I did paint my first-ever watercolors while vacationing at the beach. Oh, wait--I actually sewed some fabric onto a watercolor, using metallic thread in hopes the stitches would look like silvery fish leaping in the waves. (Maybe you have to be me to see those fish!)

My watercolors seemed to fall into two categories:  slightly different versions of the exact same landscape (the view from our rental-condo living room)...

or what look to me like upholstery-fabric designs (see photos, below)! Hm, I guess I was missing my sewing machine.  In fact, I would love to somehow print these images onto fabric but  apart from using iron-on fabric transfers I haven't the first clue how to do that. Does anyone have any suggestions for me about how to turn these designs on paper into designs on fabric?

Thanks, dear readers. It's good to be back and I hope you're all having a lovely summer--either vacationing or doing whatever makes each of your dear little unique hearts happy.
